    Great info!! Wish I had stumbled across this a little sooner. It would have saved me a ton of time and money. I recently placed an order with a “solar company” and it is suppose to be delivered tomorrow. Your design is a lot cleaner and your diagrams have a lot more detail. I am seriously considering sending a lot of it back and going with your design and lay out. i have three 100Ah Battle Born batteries. a 3000w Victron Multiplus inverter/charger and 320 watts of solar. I didn’t see any diagrams on a 3000w inverter. How much will that change the wire sizes and fuse/breaker capacities? I saw where you offer custom wire diagrams for a fee. I tried to click the link and hit a dead end. Thanks in advance for the help.

    1. Awesome! Glad it’s helped out. Changing to a 3kw inverter would require upgrading most of the 2/0 wire to 4/0 wire, bigger fuses, bigger busbar, and a bigger main switch. The custom wiring diagrams are currently ‘out of stock’ until after the holidays (spending some time with family) but feel free to check back in early January for those if you’re wanting me to do that for you.

  6. I have a question about your bus bar set up in your diagram. Could you explain to me why you put each wire where you did on the bus bar in comparison to the switch? I’m confused on what the switch is doing exactly other then cutting off power.

    1. Sure! With the switch in that position, it allows us to disconnect the loads (inverter and dc distribution) while still allowing the solar panels to keep the batteries topped off. Thos is useful for storage of your camper.

    I had a quick question on bus bar sizing for the above system. Is there a min size for the above system? I’m trying to track down a 250a bar but will this be sufficient? I note you have a few 250a breakers running of the bar so thought that would be the minimum size.

    One question I have on the diagram of the complete system: can the ground to chassis be anywhere along the path of the negative? For example can I ground from the battery bank, or does it need to be at the other end away from the battery as shown?
